To be people of decency, good neighbours, to all, to be kind. I think the world loves kindness. We all blossom in kindness and love, and where it’s absent, there is misery and we can see it all around us in the violence in all sorts of places all over the world. The advice that I give to my children is: "be good, kind, decent people". Because even in your small patch, if you can make that patch a place that glows with goodness and kindness, it’s a witness to other people as to what’s possible and maybe someday those patches join up so that we write a history that ends in love and not crucifixion.
